Mr. William Henry "Pete" Smith's Obituary
Mr. William Henry Smith “Pete”, 91 of Talladega, passed away Friday night, May 13, 2016 at Citizen’s BMC Hospital.
Mr. Smith was a native and lifelong resident of Talladega County and a member of Taylor’s Grove Holiness Church. He retired from the Union Foundry in Anniston.
He is preceded in death by his son Johnnie Smith, his sisters Ruby Lee Dickens, Emma Jean Browning, and Mary Lathem, and his parents James E. Smith, Sr. and Georgia Canada Smith.
He is survived by his loving wife of 72 years Mary Louise Smith; his daughter Barbara Smith Herrington and husband Arthur; his brother James E. Smith, Jr. (Faye); his sister Mary Jane Snyder; grandchildren: Andrew Herrington, Daniel Herrington, Heather Herrington, and Cindy Black; and 6 great grandchildren.
Mr. Smith’s family and friends celebrated his life with a funeral service held Monday, May 16, 2016 at Talladega Funeral Home. Rev. Doug Whaley officiated the service and burial followed at Oak Hill Cemetery. Family and Friends served as pallbearers.
