Mr. William E. Newsome's Obituary
Talladega-William E. (Boss) Newsome, 96, passed away on February 28, 2022, after a short illness.
He was a lifelong resident of Talladega. He was born April 19, 1925. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Adair Newsome; parents, Gould and Jessie Mae Hall Newsome; 3 sisters and their spouses, Ella Mae White (Charles) Katherine Moxley( D.F.); Mary Elizabeth Royal (Wolfe); 2 brothers, Luther Newsome; and Billy Frank Newsome. He is survived by his daughters, Beverly Hanner (Harvey); Martha Blackburn (Rodney); Connie Phillips (Buddy); Sandra Wilbanks (Greg); 8 grandchildren, Rebecca Sewell (Jeremy); Jennifer McCoy; Susan Horn (Mark); Rod Blackburn, Jason Phillips (Erica); Matthew Phillips (Abra); Zachary Wilbanks (Erica); and Nathan Wilbanks (Lindsey). 15 great grandchildren; 1 brother, Thomas Newome; brother- and sister- in- laws, Buddy Adair (Mildred); Joe Adair (Marie); Janice Hood; Sue Hollis (Lem); Cathy Sanders (David); and Betty Ann Newsome; numerous cousins, double first cousins, nieces, and nephews. Due to covid there will not be a viewing. The family will have a graveside service on Friday, March 4, 2022, at 1:00PM at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with Dr. Clyde Pettus officiating. The family has asked in lieu of flowers that you please give to your favorite charity or someone in need. Talladega Funeral Home will direct the service.
