Wendell M. Wheeles' Obituary
Talladega- Wendell M. Wheeles, 65, of Talladega, passed away Friday, June 9, 2017 at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia. Visitation will be held Monday, June 12, 2017, at Talladega Funeral Home, from 6pm-9pm. The Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Tuesday, June 13, at 2pm. The Rev. Bobby Turner and Bro. Danny Taylor will officiate. Mr. Mike Morgan will be a special speaker. Interment will be at Midway Memorial Gardens. Mr. Wheeles was Baptist by faith and attended Dry Valley Baptist Church. He was a member of the Christian Motorcycle Association. Mr. Wheeles was preceded in death by his wife, Kathy Burdette Wheeles; son, Wendell Dewayne Wheeles; father, Julian Wheeles; mother and stepfather, Gail and Charles Harvell; and sister, Cheryl Wheeles. He is survived by his sons, Jason Wheeles and Kenneth (Nicole) Wheeles, of Talladega, and Jesse Wheeles of Washington; daughter, Cynthia (Lee) Cunningham; brothers, Randall Wheeles, of Talladega, and Mike (Anita) Harvell, of Lincoln; sisters Glenda (Jimmy) Gable, of Talladega, and Melissa (Johnny) Young, of Lincoln; as well as 5 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Pallbearers will be Jason Wheeles, Josh Lackey, Herb Abernathy, Johnny Young, Henry Smith, and Todd Willingham. Honorary Pallbearers will be Terry Gallman, Jimmy Lynn Gable, Lamar Smith, Keith Oglesby, Ed Bowlin, and Hiram Burdette.
