Sylacauga-Mr. Walter Herbert Matson, Jr. passed away on Sunday, January 26, 2025. He is preceded in death by his father: Walter Matson, Sr. He is survived by his wife: Desiree Matson; mother: Gloria Holmes; 2 sons: Brian and Dakota Matson; 3 daughters: Angel Whitten and her husband Brenton; Lacola Matson, and Hiedi Matson; 1 sister: Cristie Matson; 10 grandchildren: Austen Whitten, Noah Whitten, Briana Matson, Kensley Matson, Trinity Matson, Paslee Matson, Brimley Matson, Bryson Mann, Zane Reeves, and Lilly Matson; a host of other family and friends. The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 30, 2025, from 6:00pm-8:00pm in the Talladega Funeral Home chapel for visitation. The funeral service will be on Friday, January 31, 2025, at 11:00am in the chapel at the funeral home with Rev. David Reeves officiating. Burial will be at Midway Memory Gardens with Brenten Whitten, Dakota Matson, Donald Williams, Hiedi Matson, Cristie Matson, and Jeff Burk serving as pallbearers. Talladega Funeral Home will direct the service.
