Mr. Travis Kent Whitaker's Obituary
Talladega-Mr. Travis Kent Whitaker, 73, passed away on Monday, July 31, 2023. Mr. Whitaker liked to fish, old cars, and dogs in particular. He always said “If I got pintos, potatoes and cornbread, I’m a happy man.” Mr. Whitaker is preceded in death by his parents: Stanley and Maelene Whitaker. He is survived by his wife: Shirley Whitaker; 3 daughters: Tracey, Vicky, and Holly Whitaker; 5 brothers: Merle Whitaker, Glenn Whitaker, Richard “Dickie” Whitaker (Sis), William Whitaker, and Jon Whitaker; 3 sisters: Janis Murner (Jerry), Doris Murner, Ginger Howard and a host of other family and friends. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 2, 2023 from 6:00pm-8:00pm in the Talladega Funeral Home Chapel for visitation. The service will be on Thursday, August 3, 2023 at 10:00am in the Talladega Funeral Home Chapel and will reconvene at 12:00noon at Barfield Baptist Church Cemetery in Lineville for burial. Talladega Funeral Home will direct the service.
