Mr. Thomas "Tommy" George Gilbert's Obituary
Talladega-Thomas “Tommy” George Gilbert, 69, passed away on Monday, November 7, 2022. He was an avid Alabama fan, collecting a lot of their memorabilia. He was interested in collecting old and new cars. He loved to ride his Harley. He was the adopted dad to the neighborhood pets, “Buddy”, “Rammer”, and “Brownie”. Mr. Gilbert was preceded in death by his parents: James and Florence Gilbert; Brothers: Charlie Spurling; Johnny Jones; and his dog: “Nick” Gilbert. He is survived by his wife: Katie Gilbert; 2 brothers: James “Jimmy” Gilbert (Joyce); Jackie Goodwin (Kris); 4 sisters: Barbara Robertson; Betty Goodwin; Patty Spurling; and Diane Goodwin. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 9, 2022, from 1:00PM-2:00PM in the Talladega Funeral Home Chapel for visitation. The service will follow at 2:00PM in the Chapel with Rev. John Monteith officiating. The family invites everyone to wear their Alabama gear in honor of Mr. Gilbert if you choose. Pallbearers will be: Jackie Goodwin, Michael Gilbert, Harley Johnson, Clay Johnson, David Ferguson, and Donnie Langley. Honorary pallbearers are: David Spurling and Jesse Barnett. Burial will be at Midway Memory Gardens. Talladega Funeral Home will direct the service.
