Mrs. Shirley Jean Barker's Obituary
Talladega-Mrs. Shirley Jean Barker, 77, passed away on Thursday, January 26, 2023. Mrs. Barker loved to ride motorcycles, gospel singing and talking on her phone. She is preceded in death by her parents: Rev. David and Katie Parker; son: Timothy Paul Barker; granddaughter: Donna Barker; 2 sisters: Lillian Dulaney and Doris Parker; 2 brothers: Jack Parker, David Parker and 1 uncle: Bobby Joe Parker. She is survived by her husband: Charles Wayne Barker; 2 sons: Gary Barker (Rhonda); Larry Barker (Sue); 1 daughter: Karen Barker (Ronnie Spradlin); 1 brother: James Parker; 1 sister: Linda Reynolds; nephew/son: Ricky Garrett (Sheila); 6 grandchildren: Christopher Bentley; Timothy Barker; Nicholas Williams; Jessica Nisby; Michelle Wells and Chris Jones; 15 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 29, 2023 from 6:00PM-8:00PM in the Talladega Funeral Home Chapel for visitation. The service will be Monday, January 30, 2023 at 2:00PM in the chapel with Rev. Otis Graves officiating. Pallbearers will be Phillip Wade, Timothy Barker, Silas Erwin Thornton, Marcus Perkins, Jackie Denton and Wes Jones. Honorary Pallbearer is Nicholas Williams. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery. Talladega Funeral Home will direct the service.
