Mr. Robert Donald Nabors' Obituary
Talladega-Mr. Robert Donald Nabors, age 79, passed away leaving behind a lifetime of memories rooted in family, hard work, and the outdoors he loved so dearly.
Robert was a man who found joy in the simple things in life. He loved spending time on the farm and being outdoors, where he felt most at peace. He was known for his steady nature and the love he had for his family and friends. During a season of his life, he also enjoyed serving as an assistant scout leader with Troop 130 in Talladega for several years, where he was able to encourage and guide young people in the community.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Clarence and Sidney Nabors; his stepfather: Burt Grogan; and his sister, Jane Lewis.
Those left to cherish his memory include his devoted wife: Rita Nabors; his sons: Glen Nabors (Debbie), Joey Nabors, and John Nabors; his brothers: Buddy Nabors (Sally) and Sammy Nabors (Linda); his grandchildren: Taylor Sturdivant and Gage Nabors; and his great-grandchildren: Cayden and Cooper. He will also be lovingly remembered by extended family members and many dear friends.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 23, 2026, from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM at Wewoka Assembly Church for visitation. A service celebrating his life will follow at 3:00 PM with Pastor Stephen Uptain officiating.
Serving as pallbearers will be Sam Nabors, Cliff Hall, Tommy Smith, Wes Patterson, Darren Whitworth, and Hunter Goodson. Honorary pallbearers will be members of Boy Scout Troop 130.
Cosby Funeral Home will direct the service.
