Mr. Percy Eugene Shoemaker 's Obituary
Funeral Services for Mr. Percy “Joe” Eugene Shoemaker, 79 of Lincoln, will be Saturday, July 25, 2015 at 12 PM at Lincoln Baptist Church with Rev. Bill Goodwin officiating. The family will receive friends Friday night from 5 to 7 PM at Talladega Funeral Home. Mr. Shoemaker passed away Tuesday morning at his residence in Lincoln.
Mr. Shoemaker, was born in Hemphill, WV on August 24, 1935. He served in the US Air Force for 4 years. He was employed as a supervisor by Bethlehem Steel in Burns Harbor, Indiana. He retired from Bethlehem in 1989 and moved to Lincoln, AL. He was fondly known by his neighbors as “the Mayor of Booger Holler”.
Mr. Shoemaker is preceded in death by his loving wife, Juanita Shoemaker, and nine brothers and sisters. He leaves behind his three daughters: Dawn Garmon (Steve – “Son-in-Law”), Connie Kniola (David), and Bethina Cody (Dustin); four grandchildren: Steven Garmon (Melissa), Kellie Kniola, Michael Kniola (Tina), and Austin Cody; great grandchildren: Daphne and Logan Garmon, Kevyn Flores, and RJ Barto; sister-in-law: Ann Shoemaker and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to either Lakeside Hospice, PO Box 544, Pell City, AL 35125 or Lincoln Baptist Church, PO Box 182, Lincoln, AL 35096.
