Mrs. Patricia Ann Waldrup's Obituary
Talladega-Mrs. Patricia Ann Waldrup passed to her heavenly home on Monday, December 9, 2024, surrounded by her family. She is preceded in death by her husband: Donald Ray Waldrup; 3 sons: William M. Waldrup, Michael E. Waldrup, Barry "B.J." Waldrup; parents: Sam and Aline Bates; 2 sisters: Billie Faye Heath, Cathy Spurling; granddaughter: Heather Waldrup; 3 nieces: Rhonda Faye Hurst, Tonya Hope Cooper, and Sandra Spurling. She is survived by 3 sons: Brandon Ray Waldrup (Meghan Jones), Christian Taylor Waldrup, Mark Wood; 1 daughter: Paula Monahan (Brian); 5 grandchildren: Ashley McDonald, Kevin Waldrup, Timothy Waldrup, Jameson Bice, Damon Casey; and a host of great and great-great grandchildren. Mrs. Waldrup was a lifelong resident of Talladega. She was born into the Bemiston community on September 19, 1945, to Sam and Aline Bates. She Attended R.L. Young Elementary School and later Zora Ellis. She left school early and married Donald Ray Waldrup very early in life. They resided in the west end community where she attended the West End Church of God and continued serving and worshipping at this church throughout her life. She worked in the textile industry for years and then got her GED in 1985 where she began working for the State of Alabama through the Community Action Agency, she retired from the Agency in 2005. Patricia loved her job because it enabled her to help and advance others. She lived for a life of service to and for other people. She loved her family and was dedicated to them through it all. She loved the outdoors, rides through the mountains, and any adventure. She loved her church community and was a pillar of strength and inspiration to all who knew her. She will be greatly missed. The family will receive friends on Monday, December 16, 2024, from 6:00pm-8:00pm in the Talladega Funeral Home Chapel for visitation. The funeral service will be on Tuesday, December 17, 2024. at 1:00pm in the chapel at the funeral home with Bro. Otis Graves officiating. Burial will be at Midway Memory Gardens with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Talladega Funeral Home will direct the service.
