Auburn-Mr. Morrison Hemphill, 78, passed away on Thursday, January 7, 2021. Mr. Hemphill was a Christian by faith and a member of Grove Level Baptist Church in Dalton, GA. He then moved his membership to First Baptist Church in Dalton, GA before moving to Auburn, AL where he became a member of Auburn United Methodist Church. He is preceded in death by his parents; James Young and Leo Morrison Hemphill; 2 brothers, Thomas Hemphill and James Hemphill; 2 sisters, Jean E. Herron and Ann Laura Brooker; 1 nephew, Jerry Brooker and 1 niece, Tammy Herron. He is survived by his wife, Pat Gallant Hemphill; mother in law, Margaret Wooten; 2 daughters, Mitzi (Michael) Rogers; Andrea (Daniel) Hemphill-Blatz; 3 granddaughters, Mandi Kate Rogers, Meagan (Jefferson Blanks) Lynn Rogers, Avery Kaye Hemphill; 1 sister, Becky (Steve) Author; 1 brother in law, Jack Brooker; 5 sister in laws, Connie (Dave) Ferguson; Katie (Tim) Swinney; Kathy (Steve) Hall; Krista (Zane) Reed; Jodi Morris; 11 nephews; 10 nieces; 58 great nieces and nephews; 25 great great nieces and nephews and too many cousins and special friends to count. The family will hold a special service for Mr. Hemphill at a later time.
