Mr. Maurice Carter Foil, Sr.'s Obituary
Lincoln-Maurice Carter Foil, Sr., 80, of Lincoln, AL., peacefully passed away on January 27, 2022, surrounded by family. Carter was born on September 5, 1941, in Tylertown, MS to Maurice Jacob Foil and Junita Lewis Grimes. He attended high school in Clinton, MS., and afterward attended Perkinston Junior College. He joined the United States Air Force and was stationed at Travis Air Force Base near San Francisco, CA during the Vietnam War where he served as a mechanic on C130s. After his service to the U.S.A.F., he returned to Mississippi where he attended the University of Southern Mississippi. For years, Carter worked for government contractors in procurement, which allowed him the opportunity to travel all over the United States. If you knew Carter, you knew he connected with people through laughter. He lived to put a smile on our faces and make us laugh. We celebrate his new freedom and will cherish the love and memories he gave us. Carter is predeceased by his parents and his loving stepson, Steve Waites. He is survived by his wife, Doris (Pettis) Foil; his children, Maurice Carter Foil, Jr. (Shannon McIntyre); Kimberly Bell (Chris Bell); Jennifer Foil (Brian Richard); Stephanie Kelley (Kevin Harrison); and step daughter Teresa Waites Magness; his grandchildren, Devin Anthony Foil; Abigail Henon (Sean); Amber Kochi (Ameath); TJ Kelley; Emmy Kelley; and his step grandchildren, Loren Fuentes (Michael); and Morgan Magness; his great grandchild, Nura Kochi and step grandchild, Crew Fuentes; his sister, Janice Marion and her children, James Marion; Julie Cuevas; Jeff Marion, and Joni Pickett; his former wife, Carolyn Rainwater Foil. The family will accept friends on Wednesday, February 2, 2022, from 10:00AM-11:00AM at Blue Eye Baptist Church for visitation with the service following at 11:00AM at the Church with David Rozelle officiating. Pallbearers will be Charles Pettis; Devin Foil; TJ Kelley; Chris Bell; Brian Richard; and Ameath Kochi. Honorary pallbearers are Dick Pettis and Harry Garrett. Interment will be at Blue Eye Baptist Church Cemetery. Talladega Funeral Home will direct the service.
