Marvin "Johnny" Mack Johnston's Obituary
Talladega- Marvin “Johnny” Mack Johnston, 90, passed away at his home August 14, 2018. His family will receive friends at Talladega Funeral Home on Saturday August 18, 2018, at 2 p.m. The funeral service will begin at 3 p.m. in the Chapel with Mr. Mark Townsend Catlin officiating. Burial will follow at Lincoln City Cemetery. Mr. Johnston was a U.S. Marine veteran of WWII and the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Lincoln Baptist Church and served as a Deacon and Sunday School teacher. He was also an avid golfer at Alpine Bay Golf Course. Mr. Johnston was preceded in death by his grandson, James G. Catlin, Jr. He is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Mrs. Ruth Peacock Johnston; son, Mark Allan (Marilou) Johnston; daughters, Rhonda Johnston Catlin and Starla Johnston (Bob) Ungerbuehler; grandchildren, Mark Townsend Catlin, Ian Johnston, Stephanie Kalb, Kyle Johnston, and Chad Reynolds; and great grandchildren, Samuel James Catlin, Molly Elizabeth Catlin, Sara Margaret Catlin, and Andrew Isaiah Catlin. Pallbearers will be Chad Reynolds, Ian Johnston, Kyle Johnston, Mark Catlin, Mark Johnston, and Bob Ungerbuehler. Honorary Pallbearers will be O’Neal Cheetwood, Wayne Ragen, T.W. Dulaney, Clay Good, Paul McSheridan, Ed Self, Gordon L. Williams, Jimmy Scott, Harold Jacobs, Charles Baggett, Jack Baggett, Gene Holland, John Talley, and George Sanders. Talladega Funeral Home will be directing the services.
