Lincoln-Martha "Mott" Hurst, 75, passed away on Sunday, September 4, 2022. Ms. Hurst is preceded in death by her first husband: Jerry Hurst; her past husband: Charles "Chuck" Hurst; parents: William and Gertrude Matson; 4 sisters: Virginia Browning; Katie Floyd; Dorothy Freeman; Shirley Ferrell; 2 brothers: William "Bill" Matson; Walter Matson, Sr. She is survived by her son: Dennis "Bo" Hurst (Ann); 2 daughters: Anita Harvell (Mike); Mary Ellen Bean (Danny); step daughter: Sheila Garrett (Ricky); 1 sister: Lois Langley (Danny); caregiver: Marva Cotton and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and 1 great great grandson. The family will accept friends on Tuesday, September 6, 2022, from 6:00PM-8:00PM in the Talladega Funeral Home Chapel for visitation. The service will be on Wednesday, September 7, 2022, at 11:00AM at Dry Valley Baptist Church with Dr. W.T. Pruitt III officiating. Pallbearers will be Jerry Wayne Harvell, Michael Ray Harvell, Jr., Matt Lackey, Ashton Harvell, Brandon Harvell, Christopher Hurst, Cayton George and Adam Straw. Honorary pallbearers are Warren "Cotton" Freeman, Felton Dupree, Walter "Bo" Matson, Jr. and Dr. Stan Jett. The family would like to give a special "Thank You" to Southerncare New Beacon Hospice, Beth Gray and Catherine Sikes who were amazing in the care they gave to their mother. Talladega Funeral Home will direct the service.
