Lillie Lucille Hendon's Obituary
Lillie “Lucille” Hendon, 86, of Oxford, passed away June 13, 2017. Visitation will be Thursday, June 15, 6pm- 8pm, at Talladega Funeral Home. Her Funeral Service will be held Friday, June 16, at 2pm in the Chapel. The Rev Otis Graves will officiate. Interment to follow at Pine Hill Memorial Park. Mrs. Hendon was born March 3, 1931, to Arrie and Ruby Pilkington. She lived most of her life in Talladega and was a member of West End Church of God over 30 years. She enjoyed reading and working crossword puzzles. Mrs. Hendon was preceded in death by her husband, Vester Hendon; daughters, Mary Allice Edwards and Martha Jean Smith; and son, Lester Ray Hendon. She is survived by her sons, James Hendon and Kenneth Hendon; sisters, Betty Ballard, Geneva Jones, and Lois Wilson; grandchildren, Christopher (Crystal) Edwards, James Smith, Kim McCollum, Walter Smith, Bobby Ray Edwards, John Edwards, and Jenny Hayes; and twelve great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Walter Smith, Robert Liner, Timothy McGather, Hank Bina, Michael Burdette, and Terry Hayes.
