Lillie Mae George's Obituary
Mrs. Lillie Mae George, 90, passed away Friday, May 12, 2017. The Visitation will be held at Talladega Funeral Home in the Parlor, Saturday, May 13, from 6pm to 8pm. The Funeral Service will be Sunday, May 14, 2017, at West Side Baptist Church, at 3pm. Bro. Jack Washington will officiate and Bro. Martin Murray will be a speaker. Interment to follow at Midway Memory Gardens. Mrs. George’s grandsons will serve as pallbearers: Troy Hardegree, Ricky Sims, Jamey Wyatt, Michael Hardegree, Johnny Sims, Jr., and Ryan Hughston. Honorary Pallbearers will be her great grandsons. Mrs. George retired after 36years from the Alabama Industries for the Deaf and Blind as a Quality Control Inspector. She was a member of Westside Baptist Church for more than 50 years, was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Talladega Rescue Squad. Her family refers to her as “President of the Granny Club.” She loved the Lord, her family, and her dog, Ginger. She had a passion for tending to her flowers, roses especially.
Mrs. George is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Billy Roy George; son, Johnny Wayne (Linda) Sims, Sr.; as well as 16 grandchildren 16 great grandchildren, and 7 great-great grandchildren, including all spouses. She was Preceded in death by her son, Grover Eugene Hardegree, daughter, Nita Bryant, and mother Callie George. Condolence may be made online at Talladegafuneralhomeinc.com.
