Lewell Wesley "PeeWee" Shirey's Obituary
Talladega- Lewell Wesley “PeeWee” Shirey, 76, passed away Friday, March 16, 2017. Visitation will be held at Talladega Funeral Home Monday, March 19, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. The graveside service will be held Tuesday, March 20, at Oak Hill Cemetery at 3 p.m. Minister Cliff Goodwin will officiate. Mr. Shirey lived most of his life in Talladega and was a member of Ironaton Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Van Buren and Ethel Shirey; sisters, Ruby Green, Mavis Mitchell, Euna Shirey, and Patricia Williams; and brother, Larry Ray Shirey. Mr. Shirey is survived by his brothers “Ben” (Peggy) Shirey and Virgil Shirey; sister, Aleen Grimes; as well as a number of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Pallbearers are Micah Blankenship, Robert Green, Jeff Collins, Jamie Smith, Shaun Williams, Oliver Shirey, Duane Butterworth, and Brian Shirey. Talladega Funeral Home will direct the services.
