Mr. Leonard Joe "Funnyface" Easterwood's Obituary
Talladega-Leonard Joe "Funnyface" Easterwood, 71, passed away on Wednesday, September 21, 2022.
Leonard worked over 25 years with the Talladega Housing Authority and spent most of his life painting homes across Talladega County. He is remembered for his fierce loyalty to family and friends. He had a heart of gold with a stubborn streak and always had a smile on his face. He was an avid hunter and outdoorsman. He is known in the raccoon hunting world for his hunting and dog training abilities. He held state champion titles for many years back in the day. With his failing health, Leonard could be seen taking a ride across those mountains and down in the holler with his hunting buddy “Scrappy”. Leonard took his last ride across those beautiful mountains last Wednesday night with his hunting buddy. Waiting on Leonard was all those hunting dogs that he loved so much. He is preceded in death by his parents: William and Laura Mae Easterwood; his sister: Faye Lewallen; and 2 brothers: William Hershel Easterwood, Robert Clyde “Happy Jack” Easterwood. He is survived by his son: Bobby Easterwood(Tyisha); daughter: Janie Curtis (Bob); brother: Raymond Easterwood (Teresa); sister-in-law: Shirley Easterwood; grandchildren: Briana Easterwood and Kaleigh Gable; and nieces and nephews that he loved like they were his own. The family will receive friends on Sunday, October 2, 2022, from 2:00PM-3:00PM in the Talladega Funeral Home Chapel for visitation before the memorial service that starts at 3:00PM with Bro. Ottis Graves officiating. The family would also like to extend a special “thanks” to his porch sitting friends, neighbors, morning Jack’s crew and those hunting buddies he loved. He will greatly miss you. Leonard’s final resting place will be in the mountains that he loved. One more mountain ride will follow the memorial. Talladega Funeral Home will direct the service.
