Lee James York's Obituary
Talladega- Lee James York, 81, of Talladega, passed away June 11, 2017. Visitation will be Wednesday, June 14, at 9am, at Talladega Funeral Home Chapel. The Memorial Service will follow at 10am. Chaplain Daryl Hamaker will officiate. Mr. York was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, September 28, 1935 to Lee and Jean York. He served in the Army National Guard as 1st Lieutenant. In his later years, he worked as an Engineer for the Department of Defense. Mr. York was Methodist by faith. He was a member of the Freemasons for over 50 years and had duel memberships in the Salt Lake City Chapter and Talladega Chapter. Mr. York is survived by his sons, James (Katie) York, and Scott Harrison York; daughter, Wendy Lee York; brother, William Bryan York, Sr.; sister, Sally Eileen York; and four granddaughters. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lee and Jean York; son, James Christopher York; and sister, Margaret Jean York. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to those at Talladega Healthcare, Deanna Colburn, and for the support of the 117th Air Refueling Wing and Honor Guard.
