Mr. Lamar Edwards' Obituary
Talladega-Mr. Lamar Edwards, 72, passed away on Monday, July 1, 2024. Lamar loved bounty hunting. He enjoyed watching Dog the Bounty Hunter. He loved Alabama football, spending time with his family, his dog Lucy and fishing. Lamar was like social media before social media existed. He is preceded in death by his wife: Joan Edwards; parents: Curtis Edwards and Annie Joyce Barksdale; 7 brothers: Macarthur Martin, Timmons Martin, Melvin Martin, Billy Joe Barksdale, Benji Barksdale, Rodney Barksdale, Edward Barksdale; 2 sisters: Lynn Price, Mary Katherine Abbott. He is survived by his son: Tanner Edwards (Sonya); 3 daughters: Marla Rager (David), Shannon Ogle, Delena Gross; 3 brothers: Norman Martin (Sue), Michael Martin, Harvey Martin (Linda); 8 sisters: Rosemary Robinson (Robin), Becky Smith, Bonnie Barnes (Eugene), Gayle Sweener, Janice Ferguson, Virginia Gurley (Wesley), Deedee Gilbert, Dianne Werner (David); 4 grandchildren: Micheal Gross (Tia), Jacob Gross, Rainey Whitlow, John Givens; 2 great grandchildren: Darren Chavez, Persephone Gross. The family will receive friends on Friday, July 5, 2024 from 6:00pm-7:00pm in the Talladega Funeral Home Chapel for visitation. The memorial service will follow at 7:00pm with Rev. Kevin Jones officiating. In lieu of flowers the family has asked that donations be made to Ribbons of Hope (800 Shelton Shores Drive, Talladega, AL. 35160) in memory of Lamar Edwards. Talladega Funeral Home will direct the service.
