Joyce Odell Duke's Obituary
Joyce Odell Duke, 97, passed away Thursday, May 25, 2017. Visitation will be held at Talladega Funeral Home, Saturday, May 27, 2017, from 12pm-2pm. Service will follow in the Chapel at 2pm. The Rev. Donnie Thompson will officiate. Interment to follow at Pine Hill Memorial Park. Ms. Duke was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church. She is lovingly remembered as a “People Person,” having never met a stranger. Ms. Duke loved to laugh and joke with everyone. She had a special talent for sewing and enjoyed making her family clothing. She also loved canning vegetables from her garden. Ms. Duke is survived by her son, Tim Smith; sister, Vergie Shaddix; and grandson, Keith Smith. Pallbearers will be Tim Smith, Keith Smith, James Smith, and Robert Smith.
