Mr. Johnny Frank Atkinson Sr.'s Obituary
Mr. Johnny Frank Atkinson, Sr., age 61, passed away on Thursday, June 18, 2026. Johnny lived life at his own pace and enjoyed the simple things that brought him happiness. He loved spending time fishing, hunting, and watching his favorite westerns. While those were some of his favorite pastimes, nothing meant more to him than his family. His greatest joy was spending time with his six grandchildren, who always brought a smile to his face. He is survived by his wife: Tracy Atkinson; son: Johnny F. Atkinson, Jr. and wife, Natosha; daughter: Hali Atkinson Gentry and husband, Adam; brother: Ronald Atkinson; sister: Wanda Faye Shannon; and grandchildren: David Freeman, Lawson Brasher, Branson Gene Long, Haylon Atkinson, Tyler Gentry, and Isabella Gentry. He is preceded in death by his parents: Ed Atkinson and Carolyn Taylor; and 1 brother: James Atkinson. The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 25, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in the Cosby Funeral Home Chapel. A memorial service will follow at 7:00 p.m. in the chapel with Rev. Isaac Curry officiating. Cosby Funeral Home will direct the service.
