Mr. John Franklin Wood's Obituary
Graveside services for John Franklin Wood, 80 of Talladega, will be on Tuesday, the 13th of August at 2:30 pm at Mount Vernon Cemetery, in Germany Mountains, with Rev. Granville Gauldin officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 pm at Talladega Funeral Home. Mr. Wood died at Talladega Health Care Center on 11 August, 2013.
He was preceded in death by his parents Charlie W. and May Horn Wood. He is survived by a daughter, Sherri Newsome (Donald) of Columbus, MS; two brothers Charles (Mary of Talladega, AL and Robert (Mary) of Chattanooga, TN; one grandson and several nieces and nephews.
John was a veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a native and lifelong resident of Talladega. John was a member of Cragdale Baptist Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Mount Vernon Cemetery fund at PNC Bank.
Pallbearers will be close family and friends.
Talladega Funeral Home will direct.
