Mr. John Wayne Ruggs' Obituary
Talladega-Mr. John Wayne Ruggs, 62, passed away on Monday, September 22, 2025. Mr. Ruggs was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. He loved hunting, fishing, riding atvs and spending quality time with all his family. He never met a stranger; he would help anyone who needed him. He was friends with the Hindman’s for years where he worked, before becoming disabled. Mr. Ruggs is preceded in death by his father: Jim Harrell; 1 sister: Mary Williams. He is survived by his wife: Nacola (Nickie) Ruggs Gooden; mother: Raynell Harrell; 2 sons: Christopher Gooden, Jacob Easterwood; 1 daughter: Dawn Humphrey (Joey); 2 honorary daughters: Tracy Williams and Rachel Fafard; 4 brothers: Jimmie Williams, David (Fred) Williams, John Harrell, Joe Harrell (Shelby); 3 sisters: Diane Ruggs (Steve), Helen Spurling (DeWayne), Shirley Williams; 10 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 25, 2025, from 1:00pm-2:00pm in the Talladega Funeral Home Chapel for visitation. The memorial service will follow in the chapel at 2:00pm. Talladega Funeral Home will direct the service.
