Mr. Jimmy Douglas Elder's Obituary
Talladega-Mr. Jimmy Douglas Elder, 76, went to his heavenly home on the resurrection day of his Lord and Savior, Easter Sunday, March 31, 2024. Mr. Elder loved dirt track racing. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the VFW American Legion. He is preceded in death by his parents: Cleo and Nealey Elder; 1 brother: Jerry Michael Elder; 1 sister: Peggy Jean Smith. He is survived by 2 sons: Bryan Elder (Crystal), Tommy Elder; 2 daughters: Amy Elder, Tanya Elder (Britt Hester); 3 grandchildren: Shawn Elder, Gracie Elder, Ayden Claud Elder; John Caldwell and JoJo Gurley and many other family and friends. To honor the memory of Mr. Elder, a memorial service will be held on Sunday, April 7, 2024, at 2:00pm in the Talladega Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jerry Elder, Jr. officiating. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers the family has asked that donations be made to St. Jude (www.stjude.org). Talladega Funeral Home will direct the service.
