James "Walter" Keefover's Obituary
Talladega-James “Walter” Keefover, 70, of Talladega, passed away, January 23, 2019. The family will receive friends from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. on Monday, January 28, 2019, at Talladega Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 2 p.m. in the Chapel. Pastor Ottis Graves will officiate. Burial to follow at Oak Hill Cemetery. Mr. Keefover lived most of his life in Talladega. He was a former police officer with Talladega Police Department and served as a motorcycle officer. He was a former FCI employee and most recently was employed by Talladega Machine. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, James and Clarice Keefover; brother, Ed Cape; sisters, Ida Smith and Faye Chapman. Mr. Keefover is survived by his sons; Doug Keefover, Bryan Keefover, Jonathan Keefover, and Michael Keefover; daughter, Cindy Smelley; sisters, Patsy Pierce and Jean Sullivan; grandchildren, Jared and wife Jordan Smelley, Brett Smelley, Kristen Keefover, and Caitlin Keefover; great grandchildren, Aubrey Hughes, Harlin Hughes, Asher Smelley, Amari Sims, Korban Sims, and Isaiah Sims; as well as a host of friends. Friends and family will serve as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Talladega Funeral Home for funeral expenses. Talladega Funeral Home will direct the services.
