Mrs. Hilda Elaine Baldy's Obituary
Talladega-Mrs. Hilda Elaine Baldy, 76, entered eternal rest on Sunday, January 25, 2026, surrounded by the love she so freely gave throughout her life.
Hilda was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose heart was rooted in family. She found her greatest joy in her grandbabies and treasured every moment spent with them. In earlier years, she delighted in quiet afternoons spent working crossword puzzles, sewing and cross-stitching, and playing solitaire on the computer. She also loved being outdoors when her health permitted whether cutting grass or simply enjoying fresh air, she felt most at peace outside.
She is preceded in death by her parents: Arley and Vira Lawler; her first husband: Tommy Baldy; her sister: Reba Chadwick; and her son-in-law: Alan Witcher.
She leaves behind loving memories to be cherished by her 2 daughters: Jennifer Witcher, Sabrina Afriday (Hamad); brother: Roland Lawler (Luz); sister: Anna Lawler and her 5 grandchildren: Hunter Gravitt, Jacob Witcher, Layth Afriday, Maya Afriday, Asa Afriday, along with many extended family members and friends who will miss her dearly.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 29, 2026, from 12:00noon-1:00pm in the Cosby Funeral Home Chapel for visitation. A funeral service will follow in the chapel at 1:00pm with Bro. Daniel Brandon officiating.
Burial will take place at Mineral Springs Methodist Church Cemetery with Anthony Lawler, Hamad Afriday, Hunter Graviltt, and Jacob Witcher serving as pallbearers.
Cosby Funeral Home will direct the service.
