Mrs. Glenda Langley Denton's Obituary
Talladega-Mrs. Glenda Langley Denton, 78, passed away on Saturday, April 6, 2024. Mrs. Denton loved to play softball and played for Buddy’s and Bemiston in her younger years. She loved to cook and she loved her grandbabies. She is preceded in death by her mother: Willie Mae Ferguson; 2 brothers: Willie Gene Ferguson, Edgar Ray Ferguson; son in law: Danny Wideman and nephew: Willie Neal Ferguson. She is survived by her husband: James E. Denton; daughter: Daphne Wideman; 2 granddaughters: Haley Johnson (Alex), Heather Wideman; 3 great grandchildren: Brooks, Tenley, and Cooper Johnson; 3 sisters: Connie Jones (Bill), Donna Smith (James), Patricia Wade (Phillip); brother: Terry Wayne Langley (Gail) and a host of nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 10, 2024, from 2:00pm-3:00pm in the Talladega Funeral Home Chapel for visitation. The service will follow at 3:00pm in the chapel with Rev. Ottis Graves officiating. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery with Terry Isbell, Donny Langley, DeWayne Roberson, James Smith, Jamie Smith, and Phillip Wade serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Alex Johnson, Bill Jones, Bubby Langley, Leslie Langley, Ronny Langley, Wes Smith, and Tommy Williams. In lieu of flowers the family has asked that donations be made to West End Church of God in Talladega. Talladega Funeral Home will direct the service.
