Gay Freeman Hamby's Obituary
Talladega-Gay Rosemary Freeman Hamby, 70, of Talladega, Alabama passed away on Friday, December 4, 2020. Ms. Hamby was Baptist by faith and a lifelong resident of Talladega. She was a member of the American Legion; Sons and Daughters of the Confederacy; Telephone Pioneers and the Cheaha Trail Riders. She loved the beach, mountains and Alabama Football. She retired from Bellsouth and Att and was currently employed by SEI engineers. Ms. Hamby was preceded in death by her parents: William E. and Ruby S. Freeman; her twin brother; Ray Freeman and her husband; Henry D. Hamby. She is survived by her daughter; Shelly Renee Harris; 2 brothers; Edward Lawrence Freeman; Larry Wayne (Pat) Freeman; 3 grandchildren; Dakota “Cody” (Adrianna) Harris; Savannah (Johnithan) Harris; Atlanta Jaggs; 1 great grandchild; James Harris and a host of nieces, nephews and other family and friends. Visitation will be Wednesday, December 9, 2020 from 3:00pm-5:00pm in the Talladega Funeral Home Chapel. Service will be Thursday, December 10, 2020 at 1:00PM in the Talladega Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Billy East officiating. Pallbearers will be Johnithan Kelly; Freddie Harris; Rickey Rainey; Kevin Galloway; Dewey Atkinson; Ronald White. Honorary pallbearers will be Dakota Harris; Brandon Freemen; Grant Freeman. In lieu of flowers the family has ask that donations be made to go towards the cost of funeral services. Talladega Funeral Home will direct the service.
