Mr. Edward Joe Jones' Obituary
Cropwell-Mr. Edward Joe Jones, 74, passed away on Wednesday, June 26, 2024. Mr. Jones loved to fish and talk about fishing, as well as deer and turkey hunting. He was a fisherman, hunter, Vietnam Veteran, but most importantly he was a devoted husband, brother and Dad. He loved spending time with his family. He is preceded in death by his parents: Eugene and Bertha Mae Jones; 1 brother: Billy Jones; 1 sister: Mary Lackey; 1 step-daughter: Myrna Brewster. He is survived by his wife: Mary Higginbotham Jones; 1 step-daughter: Barbara Rush; 2 step-sons: Gary Franklin (Janet), Sheldon Franklin; 3 sisters: Mildred Barber (Larry), Ruby Hunt, Brenda Taft (Walter); 1 brother: Larry L. Jones (Janie); many nieces and nephews and other family members; several step grandchildren and great grandchildren. The family will have a graveside service for Mr. Jones on Saturday, June 29, 2024, at 11:00am at Oak Hill Cemetery with Rev. Steven Jones and Rev. Larry Barber officiating. Frankie Smith, Chris Brewster, Nick Brewster, Brandon Franklin, Josh Green, and Andrew Green will serve as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers the family has asked that donations be made to The American Cancer Society in honor of Edward Jones. Talladega Funeral Home will direct the service.
