Talladega-Earl C. Kent, Jr., 76, passed away on Friday, February 17, 2023. Mr. Kent is preceded in death by his parents: Earl and Opherd Kent; 1 sister: Doris Isbell. He is survived by his wife: Sharon Kent; 2 sons: Ray Kent, Kenny Knight (Tammy); daughter: Kelly Strickland; 4 sisters: Peggy Bryant, Faye Smith, Bo Kent, and Sue Smith; 9 grandchildren: Nick Kent, Kayla Kent, Sam Matthews, Josh Matthews, Alex Breneff, Savanah Knight, Kirby Williams, Kasady Lambert, Emma George; 4 great grandchildren: Amelia Kate Kent, Madysyn Williams, Callie Bagwell, Corbin Bagwell. The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 19, 2023 from 6:00pm-8:00pm in the Talladega Funeral Home Chapel for visitation. The funeral service will be on Monday, February 20, 2023 at Stockdale Baptist Church. Mr. Kent will lie in state at the Church from 10:00am-11:00am and the service will follow at 11:00am with Bro. Kevin Jones officiating. Interment will be at the adjoining cemetery. Pallbearers are Shafer Griffin, Jay Lambert, Kenny Knight, Jinky Roberts, Robert Townsend, and Bob Langley. Honorary pallbearers are Jimmy Knight, Jr. Lambert, Kenny Williams, and Boyd Allen. Talladega Funeral Home will direct the service.
