Mrs. Dorothy Marie Smith Parker's Obituary
Mrs. Dorothy Marie Smith Parker took flight with the angels on Saturday July 29, 2023, at home with loving family by her side.
Dorothy was born on Monday June 27, 1955, in Quitman GA, to Milton Ray Smith and Susie May Godwin Smith. Dorothy was born in Georgia but was raised in Texas where she married the late Calvin Parker on August 31st, 1983. During her time here on earth she worked as a cook at Willie’s Restaurant in Garland during her teenage years to early 20s. She also worked for Chevron Deli in Stewartville, Alabama. Dorothy was a true mother, grandmother, great grandmother and mother-in- law. She loved the in-laws as if they were her own. Spending time with family was the best days of her life. She also enjoyed playing cards, Bingo, and going to yard sales. Green was her favorite color and she loved frogs. She always told you what was on her mind and she never watered it down. She has waited 22 long years to be reunited with Calvin, and now they will be together for eternity just as it was promised. This giving loving daughter, mother. grandmother, great grandmother, sister, friend will be missed but never forgotten.

Preceded in death by her parents Milton and Susie, husband Calvin, son Jeffery Parker, Ellen and Billy Nicholson, Mattie Smith, Billie and Carl Estrello, Brenda Smith.
The family will have a graveside service on Saturday, August 5, 2023 at Andrews United Methodist Church Cemetery in Hanover, AL. at 2:30pm. Her grandchildren will serve as pallbearers. Talladega Funeral Home will direct the service.
