Mr. Dirk Andrew Merkl, 40, passed away on Friday, May 02, 2025. Mr. Merkl was a sports enthusiast. He was a huge Braves fan and liked watching pro-basketball and golf. He is preceded in death by his father: Victor Merkl; grandparents: Don and Anne Merkl, Melvin Pruett, Barbara LeNoir; uncle: Dennis Dirk Merkl. He is survived by his mother: Angelia Merkl; aunt: Anna Estes; uncle: Monte Dean Merkl; cousins: Andy McPherson, Holli Ann Lucas, Kody Estes, Brenton Scott Merkl, Breanna Grace Merkl. The family will receive friends on Friday, May 16, 2025, from 1:00pm-2:00pm in the Talladega Funeral Home Chapel for visitation. Gravesite rites will be at 2:30pm at Hepzibah Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Robert Earl Sanders officiating. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Talladega Funeral Home will direct the service.
