He is preceded in death by his parents, Grover, and Mary Frances Spurling; 1 son, Charles David Spurling; 1 granddaughter, Autumn Cheyenne Spurling; 4 brothers, Grady, Leslie, Paul, and James Spurling. He is survived by his wife, Patricia “Patty” Spurling; 1 son, David Ray Spurling; 4 brothers, DeWayne Spurling (Helen); Tony Spurling; Benny Spurling (Susan); Danny Spurling; and 2 sisters, Martha Holmes (Bobby); Mary Hazelwood. The family will have a memorial service at a later date.
