Talladega-Mr. Charles Wayne Barker, 81, passed away on Sunday, October 27, 2024. Mr. Barker is preceded in death by his wife: Shirley Barker; son: Timothy Paul Barker; granddaughter: Donna Michelle Barker. He is survived by 2 sons: Gary Barker (Rhonda), Larry Barker (Sue); 1 daughter: Karen Barker (Ronnie); 1 sister: Shirley Humphrey (Terry); 6 grandchildren: Timothy Barker, Nicholas Williams, Jessica Miller, Christopher Bentley, Chris Jones, Michelle Wells; 15 great grandchildren; 9 great great grandchildren. Mr. Barker loved to hunt and fish. He was a licensed ham radio operator. His career was at Wehadkee Yarn Mill, he was so good at his job that he would be sent to other yarn mills to fix equipment for that location. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, from 6:00pm-8:00pm in the Talladega Funeral Home Chapel for visitation. The service will be on Wednesday, October 30, 2024, at 2:00pm in the chapel at the funeral home with Bro. Otis Graves officiating. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery with Tim Barker, Lamarcus “Smurf” Smoot, Chris Jones, Wes Hudson, Tim Dial, Jackie Denton, Wes Jones, and Darrell Garrett serving as pallbearers. Talladega Funeral home will direct the service.
