Carlos C, Davidson's Obituary
Mr. Carlos C. Davidson, age 76 passed away on Friday, July 14, 2017 in Virginia Beach, VA after a brief illness. Family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 18th, 6PM-8PM, at Talladega Funeral Home, and a Celebration of Life will be held Wednesday, July 19th, at 1:00PM, in the Chapel. Burial will be at Clay County Memory Garden (Hwy 9), in Ashland, AL. Mr. Davidson was born in Clay County, Alabama, on January 13, 1941, to the late Sylvan S. Davidson and wife Mozelle Coker Davidson. He was a graduate of the class of 1959, Childersburg High School, where he played football. Following high school, Carlos enlisted in the Navy and served aboard the USS North Hampton. Upon completion of his service, Mr. Davidson went to work for C and P Telephone Company, and later, Verizon. After 28 successful years of service, Carlos retired. Following his retirement, his time was split between Alabama and Virginia, caring for his mother and playing with his grandchildren. In that time, he spent many years enjoying early morning breakfasts with the "phone gang" and many afternoons trying to teach his family how to acquire his lottery winning magic. Mr. Davidson was preceded in death by his late grandparents, Winfield (Dora) Davidson of Ashland, AL and Roy (Ella) Coker of Lineville, AL.; parents, Sylvan S. and Mozelle Coker Davidson of Talladega, AL.; and a brother, Bobby J. Davidson of Childersburg, AL. Carlos is survived by his two sons, Christopher (Debi) Davidson of Chesapeake, VA., and Michael (Holly) Davidson of Virginia Beach, VA.; brother, Charles (Nell) Davidson of Mebane, NC.; sisters, Carolyn (Gerald) Cooper and Susan (Roy) Bean of Talladega, AL.; grandchildren, Austin, Alex, Ryanne, Drake, and Drew Davidson of Virginia Beach, VA.; as well as several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be: Austin Davidson, Drake Davidson, Michael Davidson, Christopher Davidson, Roy Bean, and Robert Davidson. Altmeyer Funeral Home, Virginia Beach, VA, and Talladega Funeral Home are handling services.
