Billy Joe Lathem's Obituary
Billy Joe Lathem, 80, passed away Saturday, February 18, 2017. Services will be held at Talladega Funeral Home, Monday, February 20, 2017, at 3pm. The family will receive friends and family from 1pm to 3pm, just prior to service. Rev. Randy Howell and Rev. Joe Daniel will officiate. Burial will follow at the Old Munford Cemetery. Mr. Lathem was a lifelong resident of Munford, AL. He was a veteran of the Army National Guard. Being Baptist by faith, he was a member of New Hope Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Macy Lathem; parents, Theodore and Lula Mae Lathem; brothers, Dan, Duck, Morge, Gene, Shug, and Jerry Lathem; and sister, Lucy Elder. He is survived by sons, Max Lathem and Eugene Lathem, both of Munford; daughter, Mary (Stanley) Cosby of Munford, and step-daughter Kay (Randy) Howell, of Lincoln; brothers, Ray (Paula) Lathem, and Ted (Liz) Lathem; sister, Runt Smith; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, friends and relatives. Pallbearers for the service will be Ralph Haywood, Randy Martin, David Smith, Warren Duke, Justin Lathem, and Jarrod Lathem. Talladega Funeral Home will direct the services.
