Billy Roy George's Obituary
Talladega- Mr. Billy Roy George, 76, of Talladega, passed away Saturday, January 6, 2018. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, January 8, at Talladega Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be Tuesday, 1 p.m., at Westside Baptist Church. Rev. Jack Washington and Rev. Donnie Thompson will officiate. Interment will follow at Midway Memory Gardens. Mr. George, a lifelong citizen of Talladega, was Baptist by faith and a member of Westside Baptist Church. He was the former Captain for the Talladega Rescue Squad. He was owner and operator of G and W Garage. Mr. George is survived by his son, Johnny Wayne (Linda) Sims, Sr.; brothers, Bobby (Billie) George, and Donald Ray (Donna) George; sister, Barbara Ann (Robert) Keith; 17 Grandchildren, 16 Great Grandchildren, and 8 Great-Great Grandchildren; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lillie Mae George; son, Grover Eugene Hardegree; and daughter, Nita Bryant. Pallbearers will be his grandsons: Troy Hardegree, Ricky Sims, Jamey Wyatt, Michael Hardegree, Johnny Sims, Jr., Ryan Hughston. Mr. George’s Great Grandsons will serve as Honorary Pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Westside Baptist Church. Talladega Funeral Home will be directing the services.
