Mrs. Betty Ann Weaver's Obituary
Lincoln-Mrs. Betty Ann Weaver, 96, passed away on Saturday, January 21, 2023. Mrs. Weaver was born in St. Clair County and lived in Lincoln, Al where she was a cheerleader and graduated Lincoln High School. She then attended Jacksonville State University and graduated with a teaching degree. She met and married the love of her life, Joe F. Weaver, Sr. and they had one son, Joe F. Weaver, Jr. She went back to Lincoln High School where she taught physical education and coached Girls basketball for many years. She then went to work for General Electric in Oxford, Al. She moved to Memphis, Tn. where she loved singing in the choir at Graceland Christian Church. She moved back to Alabama years later where she retired from the Alabama Industry for the Deaf and Blind. She was a longtime member of Eastaboga Baptist Church where she also loved singing in the choir. She loved playing her organ, working in the yard and living on the river. She also wrote several children’s books. Above all she was a loving wife and mother, the best mother any son could ever want. She was a blessing to all that knew her and she will be greatly missed. Mrs. Weaver is preceded in death by her husband: Joe Franklin Weaver, Sr.; mother: Stella Agnes Watson Griffin; father: Jean May Griffin; 2 sisters: Jean Turner, Sibyl Holmes and 1 brother: Sonny Griffin. She is survived by her son: Joe Franklin Weaver, Jr. (Joan); 1 sister: Marie Pannier and 1 grandson: Joe Franklin Weaver, III (Julie). The family will receive friends on Friday, January 27, 2023 from 12:00NOON-2:00PM in the Talladega Funeral Home Chapel for visitation. The service will follow at 2:00PM in the chapel with Rev. John Whetstone officiating. Pallbearers will be Joe Weaver, Joe Frost, Eric Hood, and Johnathon Davis. Talladega Funeral Home will direct the service.
