Ms. Barbara Smith Dial's Obituary
Anniston-Barbara Smith Dial, 74, passed away on Monday, March 14, 2022. She loved to read and fish and loved to spend time with her family at the river. Mrs. Dial is preceded in death by her parents, Thomas, and Opal Smith; grandparents, Robert, and Myrtle Elders; and one brother, Jimmy Smith. She is survived by 2 sons, Tim Dial (Angie); Roy Dial (Jessica); 1 daughter, Angie Granatelli; 8 grandchildren, Christie Reynolds; Brittany Boozer (Johnathan); Kandie Bowman (Blake Jobson); Zack Dial (Brittany Hood); Malachi Dial (Natalie); Josh Dial (Katelynn Paulson); Patric Dial; Nicolas Dial; and 9 great grandchildren. Barbara was a lifelong resident of Talladega until 2020 when she moved to Anniston with her daughter where she spent the last of her days with family close to her. Her daughter wanted everyone to know if it wasn’t for God none of these things would be possible. Barbara has always believed in God, but she completely gave her life to him while in the hospital the last time. God has delivered her on numerous occasions, she fought breast cancer in 1999, aneurysm on her brain in 2001 and a blood disorder from 2013 up until her passing. She didn’t really know how to show her love but everyone who loved her knew she loved them also. The family will accept friends on Thursday, March 17, 2022, from 1:00PM-3:00PM in the Talladega Funeral Home Chapel for visitation. The service will follow at 3:00PM with Rev. Otis Graves officiating. Pallbearers will be Patric Dial, Josh Dial, Zack Dial, Johnathan Boozer, Marcus Perkins, Brenten Whitten, and Jimmy Smith. Honorary pallbearers are Larry Bowman, and John “Jip” Elders. Talladega Funeral Home will direct the service.
