Annie Lee Ellis' Obituary
Talladega- Ann Ellis, 88, went to her Heavenly home, Monday, March 5, 2018. Mrs. Ellis was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Ellis; mother, Ann Quattlebaum; father, Clarence Gannon; daughter, Linda Kloewer; son, James Brasher; granddaughter, Lea Bell; sisters, Joann Andrews and Mary Anderson; and brother, Richard Howe. Ann is survived by her daughters, Mary Jane Lucas (Bob) and Nancy Colin (Carlos); son, John Brasher (Bette); sisters, Ruth Woods (Bert) and Sarah Auverswald; brothers, Joe Howe, Jr. (Wilma) and John Howe (Brenda); grandchildren, Melissa Kinser (Dan), Amy Honstein (Matt), Amanda Sheehan, Shannon Brasher, Sarah Richardson (Brett), Brian Lucas, Jonathan Brasher, David Brasher, and Adam Strong; 13 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.
Mrs. Ellis was born in Rosedale, Mississippi, and later settled in Birmingham with her family. She was a member of Independent Presbyterian Church. She worked as a bookkeeper for Fix Play until her retirement. She and her husband opened an antique store in Birmingham, and later began conducting estate sales. She was a self-taught pianist and played for several churches over the years. Mrs. Ellis loved gardening, flowers, and “Garage Sales,” but most importantly, she loved her family.
The family would like to thank the staff at Mountain View Rehab for their kind, loving care given to Ann. A special thank you also to Lori Thomas, Leacher Chapman, Greg Tankersley, and Jill Stubblefield at Comfort Care Hospice.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 8, 2018, at 10 a.m. at Talladega Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. in the Chapel with Rev. Greg Tankersley to officiate. Entombment will follow at Jefferson Memorial Gardens in Trussville, Alabama. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Comfort Care Hospice of Talladega at 702 East Battle Street, Talladega, AL 35160.
Talladega Funeral Home will direct the services.
