Alicia Kay Patterson Hurst's Obituary
Talladega- “Alicia” Kay Patterson Hurst, 47, passed away Saturday, December 15, 2018. The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, December 18, 2018, at Talladega Funeral Home. The funeral service will be in the Chapel on Wednesday, December 19, 2018, at 2 p.m. Burial will follow at Blue Eye Baptist Cemetery. Ms. Hurst loved to cook, especially spaghetti and “conebread”, and eat all she could hold. She loved her grandchildren and making happy memories with them. She was also a “Great and Generous” daughter. She is preceded in death by her father Dion Patterson; sisters, Carla Patterson and Robin Griffin; and brother, Dean Waites. Ms. Hurst is survived by her mother, Mary Ann Patterson; daughters, Heather Patterson and Jessica Hurst; grandchildren, Jayden Patterson, Ahmad Oden, and Elijah Carmack; sister, Trena Gregg; sister-in-law, Kaye Waites; nieces, Alana Cooper and Tara Mitchell; and nephews, Kevin Smith and David Smith. Pallbearers will be Scott Mitchell, Brad Cooper, David Smith, Mike Holmes, Donald Freeman, and William “JoJo” Patterson. Honorary pallbearers are Kyle Keehn and Troy Higginbotham. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Talladega Funeral Home for funeral expenses. Talladega Funeral Home to direct the services.
